Hi I'm Emilly (I will never find my name on a souvenir at the seaside), I am an Illustrator with a degree from UCLan (University Of Central Lancashire). Currently based in Calis Beach, Turkey but I am originally from Sutton-in-Craven in North Yorkshire (No one else has ever heard of it either).

I have always loved drawing. Art is everywhere, from a painting to nature to the man made world and I think it is very important to be creative, especially for me. I really enjoy drawing portraits predominantly animals but I have become more focused on people, a skill up until recently I could never master as they say practice makes perfect! I use coloured pencils to create my portraits, about 30 (maybe more) different colours to be exact. I use tip ex to create the shine over the eyes and I own over 20 different rubbers to create the highlights in the hair, face and body.
I am also interested in children's book illustration. I love the way that children get involved in books, even before they learn to read, through the pictures and illustrations, also the way that every time they read the book they are still excited to see what is on the next page. I hope that in the near future my books are read and loved by children and adults around the world and that my art brings joy to everyone, just as many children's book illustrators did for me when I was little.
